    Proxmox VE 8.0 (beta) released!

Thanks for another great (pre-)release! For BTRFS I found only the "@"-thing in the release notes. Is there anything else and is BTRFS still technologypreview with PVE 8?

    Proxmox VE 7.0 released!

Maybe you can look into the thread I made regarding these quirks (and add to it, if you find workarounds or so...).

    Proxmox Backup Server 2.0 released!

Sounds well-thought-out, thanks for the insight!

    Proxmox Backup Server 2.0 released!

Not a complaint, just curious: any special reason why btrfs isn't in the pbs-installer like it is in the pve-installer?

How to deal with degraded btrfs-arrays?

nofail is indeed something which helps that the system boots (btrfs mount only used for non-system-files here). But it doesn't mount the filesystem. The options: subvol=blah, degraded, nofail - when I log in and type mount /mnt/blah it mounts without issues (in degraded state). This behaviour...

    Proxmox VE 7.0 released!

A paid or a paying user? SCNR :-D but "paid user" sounds like the proxmox-staff pays you to use it. For the other points: you're absolutely right, absolute awesome piece of software!

How to deal with degraded btrfs-arrays?

I've just set up a pve7 in a VM again to test a bit more: PVE-Root installed on ext4 disk, so nothing special. Added disks and made a btrfs-raid1 which is mounted via fstab. Detach a disk, so the array becomes degraded and reboot. System hangs for a while, then the emergencyshell appears because...

    Proxmox VE 7.0 released!

That escalated quickly ;-) Haven't thought the stable version is that near, thank you for another great release!

How to deal with degraded btrfs-arrays?

In the rescueshell it worked, in the initramfs it didn't - or it was kind of late that day, I'll try that again. Thank you, it looks wrong to me, too, to have it generally. But that btrfs won't boot degraded as almost every other raid-whatever-implementation does feels weird, too. Good point...

How to deal with degraded btrfs-arrays?

I am playing around with btrfs at the moment. What I haven't understood yet how to deal with degraded arrays: First I tried to install PBS in a VM, rootfs on ext4, so nothing special. Installed kernel 5.11 and btrfs-progs from backports. Made three disks and put them into a raid1-array with...

    Proxmox VE 7.0 (beta) released!

The "EFI disks stored on Ceph now use the writeback caching-mode" is supposed to be in the actual beta, isn't it? I have a host upgraded from 6.4 to 7-beta and created newly a VM. However in <VMID>.conf-file the EFI-entry has no "writeback" in it. It takes long time to boot. When modifying the...

    proxmox 7.0 sdn beta test

And you rely on this naminscheme from the sdn-scripts, makes sense, therefore I tried that version. Thanks. Ah, that was the part I didn't know and that explains it, thanks so much! Looks good. So the only thing I have to take care of then is not chaning/deleting that interface in sdn. But as...

    proxmox 7.0 sdn beta test

Hi Alexandre, I try to get my feet wet in SDN however, there is one thing where I don't know how it is supposed to be now. After migrating my OVS-setup to linux-bridge-setup I have the following situation: I like to use a VLAN on the proxmox-host and to the VMs. Traffic is coming in tagged. The...

(Only) Windows bad diskperformance on PVE 5/Ceph Bluestore

I am running a PVE 5-Cluster with Ceph bluestore OSDs. They are only HDD OSDs and connected over 2x1GBit bonds. Don't get me wrong here, it isn't productive yet and I don't expect any fancy performance out of this setup. I am highly impressed with the performance of it under Linux-KVMs and when...
