I agree completely with this post. I also have disks that are nothing to do with pve, yet there's no way of asking the core to ignore them

This disk is not in there and I never made any changes to that config file. Seem's, that if a controller that interfaces a disk isn't being passed through (or the VM hasn't started), the pve kernel assume's control. This is confirmed by the disk view in the pve instance. With my win7 guest...
