Hi,
I've got good news. ;)
I rebooted the Proxmox Server 6.4 and now it started to backup on PBS without above error message finally.
But in any case I will fresh install as soon as possible for sure...

It literally in the error message: ... and the VM has been restarted. Rebooting the Proxmox host after upgrading is also a good idea. Best of luck with your backups and upgrades.
Hi,
OK. I think I MUST upgrade to 8. No way out!
Well, I will backup all VM's to external disk or disks.
I will fresh install newst Version 8.
Than restore from backups again.
Should I do/backup anything else before fresh install? Especially...
Hi,
I connected but I got below error unfortunately while backing up on PBS.
INFO: VM Name: win10
INFO: include disk 'scsi0' 'disk2:101/vm-101-disk-0.qcow2' 150G
INFO: backup mode: snapshot
INFO: ionice priority: 7

As far as I know, backups should just work. And backups should be backwards compatible. (Unless otherwise specificly stated in the upgrade docs.)
I would however stongly recommend to not use PBS in your case and instead use vzdump. (And upload...
I don't find it easy to upgrade through multiple versions by carefully reading and following the guides written for that.
In my opinion, backing up everything (to PBS) and restoring on a freshly installed PVE 8.3 is much easier.
The script comes with the upgrade to the latest 6.4.
Debian 10 (on which Proxmox VE 6.x is based) is so old that they probably moved the repository or something. If only I could copy and paste the error text in a search engine, then I would look...
'You need to remove the enterprise repository (from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-enterprise.list (or something similar) and add the no-subscription repository: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs-6/pve-admin-guide.html#sysadmin_no_subscription_repo...
You might need to configure a repository (as I mentioned before), depending on whether you have a support subscription or not: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs-6/pve-admin-guide.html#sysadmin_package_repositories
No use apt-get dist-upgrade instead of upgrade: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs-6/pve-admin-guide.html#_system_software_updates (and also configure a repository first).
Hi,
The integration of PBS into PVE came with PVE 6.3 - so you will need to update.
But I highly encourage you to update to the latest release anyway, since you 6.x is long EOL and won't receive updates, including security updates!
Please see...
Just because you updated pve to 6.4 and thus has a add pbs button, does not mean it is compatible.
If I am not mistaken, the pve 6.4 intergration with pbs is based on pbs 1.* and not 3.*
And I am not saying that it will not work, but I will...
it should work fine, we try very hard to stay backwards compatible there :) the other way round (newer client when doing the backup, older client when attempting to restore) might not work, depending on used features.
testing your backups before...
Hi,
But now I upgraded to 6.4 and can join pbs to VE without any problem.
Tonight it will back up first time in the PBS.
If VE 6.4 can work with PBS than I can fresh install 8 and connect to same PBS, can't I?...

Hi,
Fresh is the best... ;)
You're right. But I got a question? Are the structure of VM files changing between the Proxmox version?
If not, It's very easy to backup all VM's to PBS and reinstall again.
