We are having the same issue with you after using a VMWare converter image of a Win2k box under KVM. It is really slooooow on bootup and spikes the base machines cpu usage.
Did you ever manage to resolve this issue? We suspect that the issue lies with the disk IO, did you have to use an older set of virtio drivers to boost the disk performance?
Any information you have would be greatly received.
