Hi All
Yes moving back the OS to XP/2003 has worked for me also, I was at my wit's end with this one as I migrated from a damaged old server to a temp new server with Pmox 5.1. Ones crash after the other.
Unfortunately I'm not a Linux head, just sbs windows. Is it possible to update the PVE...
I got sorted with the help of a friend who SSH into it. It appears that I installed a version of debian over the proxmox. He was able to reinstall Proxmox while keeping all settings and VM's. Back up and running in 20min.
Have a new install of Proxmox 5.1 on a Dell R710, about 2 weeks old. It wont load VMs and there is no GUI. I can SSH into it OK. and it is loading as far as the Proxmox login prompt. All was well until I tried to setup the backup, kept getting errors trying to start NFS, it would not load. Check...
Yes I have been using Synology for lat 2 years now with great success. I have them on about 20 sites. on a DS116 I can backup 1.1TB in just under 5 hours. Only Synology that don't work with proxmox is the DS1115e, because it dose not have NFS. Some useful info here on how to set it up...

As a last resort I had to dump proxmox on this server and install HyperV, this was at the request of IBM tech support. So far it seems to be stable now and I have moved one of my 4 Live VM servers over to it. IBM d0 not support Proxmox, but I did not have the IBM software support package, only...
Latest is the server is still not running reliably, IBM have replaced a Mid section board in the server and now they are coming to replace fans in one of the books, as the DSA report shows overheating. It looks like it was a hardware issue all along.
I purchased the memory with the server from IBM distributor.
We have just had our longest up time of 12 days before the Win7 VM froze, this time one of the Server 2008 VM also froze same time, other Server 2008R2 VM was fine.
Going to remove one of the books (and memory that was supplied) just...
