    Have done some testing/labbing today and even if my dataset can do 1,5GiB+/sec just a 1TB virt HDD took over 11 min to backup.. like you say no matter whats it has to read the compete virt drive.. garbage. back to the drawing board.

    if i use the proxmox backup server and use snapshot of VM. Then only new change will be backed up right and no downtime on VM. aint snapshot good enough?
