Nice idea, but building a cluster on a volatile link with a third party VPN solution as an external SPOF is a very good recipe for disaster. If you leave out the clustering, it's a nice solution. -

It still works with current kernels as the io_uring bug has been fixed. According to https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/process/maintainers.html OCFS2 is actively maintained.

easiest way: make backup, ie. to SMB share or setup proxmox backup server in VM map same SMB / PBS to new machine and make a restore. or try pegaprox, they have a mighty import function.
