  1. PVE 7.1: New SMART Error on every hard disk at every reboot?

Same here with an older Samsung 950 Pro. No negative impact detected, other than an increasing counter.
  2. [TUTORIAL] Compile Proxmox VE with patched intel-iommu driver to remove RMRR check

This bugreport is pretty scary for 5.4. So far, I haven't seen instability but I'll monitor for issues.
  3. [TUTORIAL] Compile Proxmox VE with patched intel-iommu driver to remove RMRR check

This patch works on the Debian iommu driver, it can be created on any debian-based system (although with a different tutorial).
  4. [TUTORIAL] Compile Proxmox VE with patched intel-iommu driver to remove RMRR check

Looks nice indeed! Reduced latency is always nice. Unfortunately, AVIC is only available on AMD Zen processors.
  5. IOMMU unsafe interrupts enabled, still error message

Thanks for the great support Thomas, editing the kernel commandline worked indeed. :) My Linux fu is not that strong, my major was business economics. 5.4 (Focal Fossa) was installed after cloning the master pve-kernel.git and compiling a patch to remove RMRR check (see pve-kernel appendix...
  6. IOMMU unsafe interrupts enabled, still error message

Hi there, I've used Proxmox for years on an old HP DL380 G6 which needs a patch to disable IOMMU RMRR checking and allow unsafe interrupts in order to passthrough GPU's to VM's. This combination has worked all that time with some rewrites of my patch whenever another kernel is used in Proxmox...
  7. [TUTORIAL] Compile Proxmox VE with patched intel-iommu driver to remove RMRR check

There's an error being thrown somewhere farther up. Can you pastebin the entire session so I can take a look? Usually it's an unmet dependency because the new kernel (focal) has other requirements than the previous version. Also, I'm having errors about having to enable unsafe interrupts. Even...

Apologies for the absence, work/life etc intervened. Spaces are not allowed indeed. :)
  9. [TUTORIAL] Compile Proxmox VE with patched intel-iommu driver to remove RMRR check

Hi there, If an HP goes to 100% fan speed, it usually indicates a hardware or firmware issue. A quick search returns this thread with more information: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/42936-dmarfault-reason-06-pte-read-access-is-not-se/ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1339567...

  11. [SOLVED] Compiling Eoan gives debian/rules .compile_mark error

Well, that went a bit faster than I feared luckily. Same result however, see the log for details: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fZAQ4fWCxtTracaRGcc3l5KHebRsoL7b/view?usp=sharing Only error I noticed other than the one I posted already: /bin/sh: 1: lz4c: not found make[4]: ***...

  13. [SOLVED] Compiling Eoan gives debian/rules .compile_mark error

Hi there, I'm trying to update my tutorial for removing the RMRR check to Eoan because Intel changed their intel-iommu driver, which means I need to make a new patch. (https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/tutorial-compile-proxmox-ve-with-patched-intel-iommu-driver-to-remove-rmrr-check.36374/)...
  14. [TUTORIAL] Compile Proxmox VE with patched intel-iommu driver to remove RMRR check

Any luck so far? My system is patched and on 6.0 at the moment using the attached patch. What kind of errors do you get?
