    Thanks @hektop Turning off NFS v2 and v3 also resolved this issue for us. Proxmox 8.3.4 and QNAP QTS 5.2.3.3006.

    There is a github issue posted (I think) related to this issue: https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu/-/issues/520, but we are not using cPanel and don't have the technical skill to troubleshoot in a more generalized fashion.

    Removed my two-liner "shutdown" script, made your changes as noted above and problem solved. Thanks for the feedback and improved solution.

    Good day. Rookie here. Running Alpine 3.15.0 VM inside Proxmox 7.1-11 - unlicensed. All updates applied on both thru date of this post. Ran into the same problem described in this old thread with the current releases as noted. Same solution worked perfectly. Thank you.
