I've set swappiness to 0 but I'was running into the same problems decribed above.
I've 30 GBytes RAM for free...
Normally there are running 3 to 6 vms on one server.
Always when the backup starts we see a slight increase in swap usage.
Sometimes we see a decrease in backup performace to 2 or 3...

I got a problem with my LAN Interfaces.
I've two on board and 2 Network Interface Cards installed.
All were shown by manboardbios correctly installed and connected.
But two lanports are shown under proxmox as rename10 and rename11 and unkown...
Everything seems to be recognized...
Perhaps this helps... I had serious performace problems since proxmox VE6 with my vm's ....
vm.swappiness was set to 60 by default in all my testing and productive machines.

/dev/pve/root ist voll, damit war kein Eintrag mehr ins log möglich.
Jetzt frage ich mich wie können hier 30 GB voll einfach voll laufen ?

Not quite the same Problem, but I created a pveUser "test" and a pveGroup "backuptestadmin" . I gave Administrator permission to the group backuptestadmin in /storage/BackUp1 . I added the pveUser "test" to the group "backuptestadmin".
When I do login in with user "test", I can see the correct...

The kernel is reducing powerconsumption for about 20-30 % with my system.
I wasn't testing with any benchmark but it seems to me the system works faster too.
