Warnings during apt-get upgrade

Just a feedback:

today I started an update the usual way:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

I found the following warnings:

Have you tried to reboot? :> If you have physical access to server try to - you have plenty other kernel which should work.

I am not on OVH. But I did a quick test and rtl8139 ethernet device is working fine.

Hi,

updated today to the latest PVE 1.6 kernel, the warning is still present. I tested on a system with the following Ethernet hardware (from lspci):

Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 01)

Tried rebooting and Ethernet controller works. The missing fw could be present in firmware-non-free? Could be a solution adding it to the default PVE apt repos?

Just tell me where I can find those files? AFAIK Realtek did not release them.

You are right, firmware non free does not contain the missing driver. Wondering if the controller will continue to work without problem using the driver inlcuded in the previous kernel: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=561309
