when a large vm is powered down, and have not been powered on since the last backup. Reading the whole disk without the running dirty bitmap can be quite time consuming, even if the actual backup transfer is 0.

is there a way to skip reading this large disk for every backup run without having to edit the backup jobs all the time?
I realize that some other process can have changed the data of the disk, and a backup can in some cases be desired. But perhaps a toggle able option in the backup job, allowing the admin to make a informed choice.

+1 from me but maybe not to PBS but to proxmox (selection for full backup and for incremental)
Maybe add "include running vms" to "backup job" -> "selection mode"
