Restoring from backup to a new node after a cluster node failure

I have a cluster of two Proxmox PVE nodes in which one node has catastrophically failed. There is one VM that I need to recover from that node. It was not in shared storage, it was in local storage. However, I have an encrypted backup of it stored on a Proxmox Backup Server. What is the correct way for me to restore from this backup to the surviving (and now only) node of the cluster? In particular, should I separate the node from the cluster first of all? Or will that make it more difficult to recover the backup?

Thanks!
