Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libhttp-daemon-perl libsndfile1 linux-libc-dev tzdata
Pleasantly surprised today that an EOL distribution like PVE 6.4 is still getting debian upstream updates on apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade still.

For those who still use PVE 6.x, just checked today and found the following updates from the upstream Debian repos:
Code:
  bind9-host dnsutils libbind9-161 libdns-export1104 libdns1104 libirs161 libisc-export1100 libisc1100 libisccc161
  libisccfg163 liblwres161

11 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 4,907 kB of archives.
After this operation, 11.3 kB of additional disk space will be used.

Hope these updates do not break the PVE 6.x installation.

Upgrading to PVE-7.x is not an option for the said installation as it has excessive customisation/extension.
A dummy install is maintained to test updates to provide support.
Production servers should not be indiscriminately upgraded - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Migrating containers and virtual machines across PVE versions is time consuming and generally not worth the effort especially with the rapid bumping up of the PVE versions.

Todays upstream debian updates for PVE-6.x are:
Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  dbus isc-dhcp-client isc-dhcp-common libdbus-1-3
4 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 942 kB of archives.
After this operation, 6,144 B of additional disk space will be used.

Further updates from upstream debian for buster PVE6.x:
Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libexpat1 tzdata
2 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 374 kB of archives.
After this operation, 2,048 B disk space will be freed.

Further PVE 6.4 updates from upstream debian buster:

Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  distro-info-data libncurses6 libncursesw6 libpixman-1-0 libpython3.7 libpython3.7-minimal libpython3.7-stdlib libtinfo6 libxml2
  ncurses-base ncurses-bin ncurses-term python3.7 python3.7-minimal vim-common vim-tiny xxd
17 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 9,497 kB of archives.
After this operation, 298 kB disk space will be freed.

Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  grub-common grub-efi-amd64-bin grub-efi-ia32-bin grub-pc grub-pc-bin grub2-common krb5-locales libarchive13 libgssapi-krb5-2

  vim-common vim-tiny xxd
22 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 10.5 MB of archives.
After this operation, 19.3 MB of additional disk space will be used.

Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libksba8 libtasn1-6 linux-libc-dev
3 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 1,707 kB of archives.
After this operation, 12.3 kB of additional disk space will be used.

Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  curl isc-dhcp-client isc-dhcp-common libarchive13 libcurl3-gnutls libcurl4 libgnutls30 libgnutlsxx28 libnss3 libssl1.1
  openssl
11 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 6,520 kB of archives.
After this operation, 141 kB of additional disk space will be used.

Excuse me, but I do wonder what you intend with the updates to this thread?

These are debian updates that have been backported for Buster and have nothing to do with the Proxmox packages. There do not seem to be any more Proxmox updates and there won't be any compatibility tests from Proxmox (although it is quite rare that something breaks with these).

This is just to keep a record of the chronology of the updates from Buster as PVE 6 is still in vogue. The last referred update has updated openssl and may have some ciphers that may require a certain version of browser to be usable. Not expecting any testing from the Proxmox team but will help troubleshoot issues by and for the community.

Thanks for the info.
