After a reboot of one of our Centos containers we suddenly could not login anymore:
Unable to open pty: No such file or directory
I found many threads in google mentioning the same problem with a quick fix.
I tried and edited /etc/rc.sysinit en commented the line: /sbin/start_udev
After that I could indeed login.
I'm a bit concerned though because this line belongs in rc.sysinit (I can see this in identical containers).
And I wonder what caused the problem in the first place.
We have many identical containers running. The template we use is (too) old but we've never seen this
My question to the Proxmox staff:
Is this a safe solution or are there better ways to solve this?
Any idea what created this problem in the first place?
Thank you very much in advance!
