I was given a IBM System x3550 M2 1U server:

2 X Intel Xeon E5540 CPU (Quad-Core @ 2.53Ghz)
32 GB RAM
IBM BR10i SAS RAID Controller = to LSI 1078 or LSI 1068[E]

I am more experienced with DELL servers and IBM is new to me.

I am considering installing ProxMox 1.8 on this server and was wondering if anyone has had any success with this hardware with ProxMox-VE. If so, can you share you configuration experiences with me? Thank you!

Re: ProxMox-VE 1.8 installation on IBM System x3550 M2 SOLVED

Sorry forgot to reply to this. I got it working also. Had to switch the way the raid arrays were configured, originally I tried installing to sda2 which did not work. reconfigured the raid arrays so the array I wanted as my boot array showed up as sda1 then I was able to install to the correct array.
