I want all my containers and everything on proxmox to run through my vpn server. I am just wondering if this is possible and how I would go about doing something like this.
what do you mean by this exactly?
do you want to run a VPN server on your PVE?
or do you have a VPN server that you wish to route all your VM/CT traffic to?
both are doable
for the first option you could just create an openvpn container [0]
for the second option you could probably make a VM and use it as a router for the rest of your VMs.
you would have to configure that VM to connect to your VPN server, and act as a gateway for the rest of your subnet. for networking you can check out our wiki[1] and docs[2].
It's on a different network if you will because it's vpn (192.168.3.1) traffic but is bridged to my LAN network (192.168.1.1) I can access all other devices on LAN but not the proxmox hosts. At first I was able to access them and then suddenly without making any changes they are gone only when I'm accessing via vpn if I am actually local they are present and working fine.
openVPN should only be "aware" of networks. Therefore if it is "aware" on your lan it should able to access anything on it. azarchatrandom
