I had the same issue, low network speed. 100-200mbit on a gigabit WAN connection
I tried every type of network card, cpu type etc.
I changed the "Disable hardware checksum offload" in pfsense vm.
The only thing helped me: changed ostype: other (or Solaris) to -> "Linux 5.x - 2.6 Kernel"
After it, 5-600 mbit WAN speed. still not ~900 like in linux vm, but im really happy with it.
