I could not figure out which forum part to put this into.

But when making a Guest where i put in the "debian-11.4.0-amd64-netinst.iso" there is no image when choosing either "Graphical Installer" og just "Installer"

I need to run "debian-11.4.0-amd64-netinst.iso" for an alternative Debian install experiment.
But it is not possible for me to continue with the "installer" in Debian Guest.

I have attached a screenshot of the Guest settings.

Hope there is an easy fix.

Best regards,
Darkyere

hi,

you can try changing the boot order and putting the CD drive in front. on the screenshot click on "Boot Order" and you should be able to see it.

if that doesn't work please post the full VM config: qm config 102

Its not a problem with the boot order.
The CD boots, grub loads. But when pressing "Installer" in debian i get a really twisted screen and nothing happens.
Images of how it looks attached.

could you check the sum of the ISO file?
Code:
$ sha1sum /var/lib/vz/template/iso/debian-live-11.4.0-amd64-lxqt.iso
45c35258c44e9a6d6d8b9832f77ffcd1703953df /var/lib/vz/template/iso/debian-live-11.4.0-amd64-lxqt.iso

downloaded from https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/.../iso-hybrid/debian-live-11.4.0-amd64-lxqt.iso

seems to work normally here on PVE 7.2-7

I downloaded the ISO images with "Download from URL" and choose SHA512SUM from https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/ for the LXQT and https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/amd64/iso-cd/debian-11.4.0-amd64-netinst.iso for the net-install.

Both debian-11.4.0-amd64-netinst.iso and debian-live-11.4.0-amd64-lxqt.iso checks out.

I am not starting the Live ISO or Graphical Installer.
I am choosing the "Install" in the GRUB menu.

Both ISO's gives the same result.

But if i choose Live environment debian-live-11.4.0-amd64-lxqt.iso it does boot to LXQT live environment without a hitch.

It's the "Install" part in GRUB that acts up.

Are your settings in Proxmox different in any way than mine ?

okay, it seems the problem only appears with OVMF as the BIOS setting. you can set your Display to "VirtIO-GPU" or "VMWare compatible" it should work

Thank you alot for the info.
I got into the Installer now.

I would never have figured this out my self.

Of course i had to make some incompatibe mix in the settings :D

A lot appreciated thank you.
