Hello everyone,

I managed to install macOS Ventura on my fresh Proxmox 8 installation.
Everything went fine, installing macOS through the noVNC console and setting up everything. Now its the last part to my success that does not work: the GPU passthrough.

After the initial Proxmox booting screen, I select the macOS installer, and then the Apple logo appears with a progress indicator. However, the display subsequently goes blank with no HDMI signal, and it does not recover until I restart the virtual machine (VM). without GPU passthrough the VM works fine but display is laggy.

Here is my specs:

Code:
AMD Ryzen 5 3500X
AMD RX 6600 8GB
B450MH motherboard
16GB Ram
Proxmox 8

Here is my BIOS configs:

Code:
Enabled VT-d
Enabled SR-IOV
Disabled CSM/Legacy Boot
Enabled ACS
Enabled 4G Decoding
Disabled Resizable BAR/Smart Access Memory
Enabled IOMMU

cat /proc/cmdline
Code:
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.5.11-7-pve root=/dev/mapper/pve-root ro quiet amd_iommu=on initcall_blacklist=sysfb_init

Hit me up if you need any more data to help me. I dont want to give up this exciting piece of software this early :)
Thank you very much in advance!!

Hey, did you manage to figure it out? I'm on the same boat but on a non-Proxmox. Specs are very similar, but I have a RX 6600 XT instead of RX 6600. Upgrading from Monterey to Ventura was one of the solutions (and the way it worked for me in the past), but now that seems to break the whole mac disk during the upgrade, making the disk entirely unbootable/corrupted.

I've also tried almost every workaround, but blank screen after GPU pass-through occurs in every case.

Update: I got it to work! Had the wrong cpu type set for qemu. It should be Haswell-noTSX instead of penryn with some additional feature-set flags. After another reinstall on that cpu type, everything works perfectly and no more black screen after apple logo.
