Local disk made available to OpenVZ container

I have mounted storage to my PVE environment and shared it out via NFS to my other PVE servers. I have an OpenVZ container running locally on the same PVE server to which the storage is mounted. I can either:

1. access the storage via NFS
2. access the storage by exposing it to the container.

Which would be the best method? If #2 how can I best do this?

with bind-mounts you can share the space with your container.
