hi,

i've installed now 2 times a fresh debian squeeze with proxmox packages.
I did it this way (worked for about 2 weeks perfectly):

install proxmox on both nodes:

echo "deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian squeeze pve" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
wget -O- "http://download.proxmox.com/debian/key.asc" | apt-key add -
aptitude update
aptitude -y full-upgrade
aptitude -y install pve-kernel-2.6.32-11-pve pve-headers-2.6.32-11-pve

reboot

######################

aptitude install proxmox-ve-2.6.32
a2ensite pve-redirect.conf
/etc/init.d/apache2 reload
aptitude install ntp ssh lvm2 postfix ksm-control-daemon vzprocps

Now, when i log into proxmox and create kvm , the vm is created:
~# qm config 100
bootdisk: ide0
cores: 8
ide0: local:100/vm-100-disk-1.raw
ide2: local:iso/debian-6.0.5-amd64-netinst.iso,media=cdrom
memory: 2048
name: test
net0: rtl8139=6E:BF:F6:CE:3E:F7,bridge=vmbr0
ostype: l26
sockets: 1

But the VM is not displayed in the proxmox WebUI.

Proxmox Version:
~# pveversion --verbose
pve-manager: 2.1-1 (pve-manager/2.1/f9b0f63a)
running kernel: 2.6.32-11-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 2.1-68
pve-kernel-2.6.32-11-pve: 2.6.32-66
pve-kernel-2.6.32-12-pve: 2.6.32-68
lvm2: 2.02.95-1pve2
clvm: 2.02.95-1pve2
corosync-pve: 1.4.3-1
openais-pve: 1.1.4-2
libqb: 0.10.1-2
redhat-cluster-pve: 3.1.8-3
resource-agents-pve: 3.9.2-3
fence-agents-pve: 3.1.7-2
pve-cluster: 1.0-26
qemu-server: 2.0-39
pve-firmware: 1.0-16
libpve-common-perl: 1.0-27
libpve-access-control: 1.0-21
libpve-storage-perl: 2.0-18
vncterm: 1.0-2
vzctl: 3.0.30-2pve5
vzprocps: 2.0.11-2
vzquota: 3.0.12-3
pve-qemu-kvm: 1.0-9
ksm-control-daemon: 1.1-1

Someone can help me here please?

Thanks,

argonius

And the config is there?

# ls -l /etc/pve/qemu-server/

Can you start the VM:

# qm start 100

And the config is there?

# ls -l /etc/pve/qemu-server/

Can you start the VM:

# qm start 100

the configs are exist:

~# ls -l /etc/pve/qemu-server/
total 1
-rw-r----- 1 root www-data 209 May 21 13:09 100.conf
-rw-r----- 1 root www-data 227 May 21 13:20 1337.conf

if i run qm start 100, nothing happens. no message and qm list
stays empty...
but if i run ps aux i can see the running kvm process.
this is really strange.

i also checked now my qemu-server package version:
2.0-39

i think this is correct?

Where are the VMs?

I just downloaded, and installed the 2.1 ISO. I've created 2 VMs. They're not listed on the side/file-tree. I've been using 1.x for a few years, holding off on the 2.x upgrade. However, I've always beta tested 2.x releases on the side. Besides tonight, I've always had the VM title listed under the physical host's title. I've did a search over the forum, and this doesn't seem to be a common issue. I can't help but feel like I am missing something. Any help is appreciated.

Please review the screen shots for more information.

Re: Where are the VMs?

I wanted to update this topic: there is a similar issue with another user. Their link can be found below, with the bug report. It seems when a VM name is starting with a number, it will produce this bug. I think this is my issue, as well.

Moderator, can you merge these two topics? Sorry for the double post.
