I just did a fresh install of proxmox 4.0 using the non-subscription repos and when i try to start a vm, I get the following error.

root@vm1:~# qm start 100
Running as unit 100.scope.

failed to initialize KVM: No such file or directory

I've checked to make sure the kvm module is loaded, which I believe means VTX is enabled in the bios. Am I missing something?

check you BIOS again, and what CPU do you have?

some servers needs to be powered off and started again to get settings applied correctly.

Check KVM Support:

grep -E '^flags.*\b(vmx|svm)\b' /proc/cpuinfo
