I've installed proxmox on debian, as I heard you can do that instead of an ISO.

However once I finished the installation, and the server was running, I tried connecting to https://IP:8006 and I got ERR connection timed out in my browser.

How could I fix this? Should I restart?

I installed VE. That's what it is. But trying it again, with it no luck

Then why do you ask this VE question in the PBS thread??

Check if Port 8006 is bound to Proxmox VE Proxy service
$ ss -tunelp | grep 8006

Maybe try a different browser for connecting, Chrome, Firefox? Or clear history, cookies etc.

And I guess you choose a valid IP that is part of the same subnet? Often people don't understand the network basics and choose a random IP like 192.168.100.2/24 for PVE and try to connect to to the webUI by a client with a lP like 192.168.0.150/24 and then wonder why it won't work.
And you created a vmbr0 and edited the files "/etc/hosts", "/etc/network/interfaces" and "/etc/resolv.conf" like described in the wiki?: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Instal...d_an_.2Fetc.2Fhosts_entry_for_your_IP_address
