Hallo,

we have a ceph cluster. In case one Node from our Cluster has a broken OSD, how can we identify the right one? Sure the Proxmox GUI say "OSD3" is broken. But when i am standing in front of the server, how do i know which disk is OSD3? It is unlike a Raid Controller, that is showing a red led so i know that this is the disk i should replace.

Also when i am looking at a particular OSD there is no indication of a Serial Number or something that is printed on the disk itself.

Try
Code:
ceph device ls
ceph device ls-by-host <hostname>

That should print out all the necessary infos.
