Hello,

I am migrating from windows server 2012 r2 to proxmox, but I need to know how to make a vm from a existing virtual disk

I need to make a VM but I only have a file .vhd: my_disk.vhd

I have made VM in VirtualBox and in that, I can create a VM without disk and I can add the file .vhd after and then I can to start VM with its own OS installed.

Can you help me with this please

thank's so much for your answer fireon, I have converted my disc to qcow2, in that disk I have the SO but I don't know how to add to my VM.

How can I do that?

Regards!

Yes, I have create the VM and I have the disck file:

root@virtual:~# ls /var/lib/vz/origen/
DimensionToProxmox-disk1.qcow2

Where can I replace the original file? the original disk file is in /dev/pve?

I see:

root@virtual:/dev# ls -l pve/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Dec 12 09:15 vm-102-disk-1 -> ../dm-11

I can find the *.qcow2 orginal disk file what I must to replace

Regards

What Storage Model do you using? And what pveversion?

I am using proxmox 4.3.1 when I created a new disk, the "Format" is disabled and it would be storage in "local-lvm"

In my Datacenter only have 2:

If you notice, the format of the disk is *.raw, I can't change it
