Hi Dietmar,

i wrote about this in another thread, but maybe it's better I start one for this alone:

What also would be really great is an option for each VM to be able to hook into the backup process, like:

OnBeforeBackupStart execute script
OnBeforeSnapshotCreation execute script
OnAfterSnapshotCreation execute script
OnAfterBackupFinish execute script

personally I only would need right now only before and after snapshot creation, but I think the more hooks you could build into a system the better.

I would need the On(Before|After)SnapshotCreation to come to a clean state
before an backup, which is very important when dealing with databases.

I would like to be able to lock the database systems right before the snapshot creation and unlock them right after, which should only take at most a few seconds.

Or is this possible right now and I do not know how to work it?

No, it is not possible, but I already added this to my todo list. I would also accept a patch ;-)

well, let's see, if I can free myself some time @ work I will try to implement it.

Do you have some access to the source from GIT or SVN or something like this? Or only source packages in your repository?

Hi,I know this topic is pretty old, but anyway: is there any chance this will come with a future release? Concerning DNS, Monitoring and Backup for containers/VMs, post-creation hooks would be pretty awesome. bestFabian
