Hi,

with recent vmware changes, are there any references for bigger "enterprise" proxmox VE setups? (for example 5 host cluster and more than 300VMs). Common setup in enterprise env is FC SAN storage and blade servers running ESXi. This setup can not be replaced with PVE as it is, because with FC shared storage and PVE. You can have LVM shared storage or LVM-thin and snaphosts, but not both - but both are MUST.
Alternative can be "unified" storage providing NFS ("NAS"), like Prure FlashArray and utilizing existing blades -- any references / experiences with this?

Hi @iwik , whether its unified or NFS only - only the NFS part will be directly configurable with PVE to provide the functionality you are looking for (snapshots, thin, etc).
NFS configuration is quite straightforward and having a good performing NFS solution is critical if you plan to use snapshots. So you may be ok with a Pure. A lower/midrange solutions may not fare as well when a snapshot of qcow2 is being executed.

That said, we have customers with PVE clusters in tens+ range with close to thousand VMs. So enterprise workflow is definitely possible with Proxmox on the right storage.
