Drives not found after migrating to new hardware

migrated proxmox to a different computer, pretty much just took the drives out of the old server and plonked them into the one, and proxmox isn't detecting the old drives anymore. The bios still detects them fine, so it's not that. lsblk doesn't show anything outside of the boot drive, grep scsi detects them though.

booting into recovery mode and then into default mode using systemctl default helped proxmox detecting the drive again, but the next default boot would still have the same problem.

mobo is a X99 Asrock extreme3 with a xeon e5 2680 v4.1711227803730.png
