Can't add host to cluster

I'm trying to add a 4.0 host to a cluster created on 3.4 but I'm getting this error when running pvecm add x.x.x.x:

rsync: change_dir "/etc/corosync" failed: No such file or directory (2)
rsync: link_stat "/etc/pve/corosync.conf" failed: No such file or directory (2)
rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1655) [Receiver=3.1.1]
can't rsync data from host 'proxmox'

I see the joined host show up on the primary cluster host but it shows as being offline.
There is no /etc/pve/corosync.conf on the host I want to add to the cluster.
Anybody have any ideas what might be causing this? This is a brand new Proxmox install straight from the ISO.

Hi,
pve 4.x and 3.x are different - so you can join only pve 3.x together and the same with 4.x.

Is there an upgrade path from 3.4 - 4.0 in that case?
