Why such an old version that will be End of Live in July? [0]

1. Please help with a step to step guide how to log in from the web 8006 gui
You selected a network interface during installation and set an IP address for it. After the reboot you will see the CLI login prompt with the login information shown above.

You must be able to connect to that IP address from your other computer. Enter the https://<ipaddress>:8006 that it does show. Your browser should warn you about the self-signed certificate. Once you accept the certificate you should be prompted with the login page. The user is root with the password you entered during the installation.

If you get a connection timeout make sure that the computer from which you try this can reach the Proxmox VE server.
2. Must the connection be Internet enabled or not
An internet connection is recommended to get updates but not necessary.

3. Should there be a ethernet or nic dongle connected to the host
You will need to have some sort of network connection present. Proxmox VE cannot handle a WIFI connection by default AFAIK so it will have to be some ethernet connection.

On what hardware did you install Proxmox VE?

I5-3470s
12gb ram
32gb sandisk extreme
500gb hdd
4tb hdd

Asrock h61m-vs3

Now I am confused ;)

Were you able to install Proxmox VE and reboot after the installation? Do you see such a screen? 1582633641394.png

If yes then you will need a ethernet cable to connect it to your network.

If you do not see this screen then please explain what you did and where you are stuck.

Grandis finally worked
Thank you so much here is a new problem. Have a 8gb 1600mhz and a 4gb 1333mhz proxmox sees only 3.75gb of it all

What kind of error do you get?

Can you ping the IP?

If you don't have a working network connection, you won't be able to access the GUI. You need to use https and the :8006 at the end to specify the port.
