I am new to proxmox and I think it is pretty awesome so far but I had a quick question on best practices on driver choices when provisioning new VM's.

For Linux (primarily Centos 6), what Bus/Device is best to use IDE or VIRTIO? Also for network interfaces, what driver provides the best stability Realtec, Intel, or VirtIO?

For Windows (primarily server Windows Server 2008 R2), I have the same question, what Bus/Device is best to use IDE or VIRTIO? Also for network interfaces, what driver provides the best stability RealTec, Intel, or VirtIO?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,
Linux virtio for both. Windows depends... virtio is a good choice, but sometimes you have trouble with it. In this cases I use ide/e1000.
