Hi,

I'm quite new to Proxmox but has everythin up and running, Home Assistant, Windows, and a LXC container with InfluxDB.

Every time I run a scheduled backup (or manual), choosing only to backup to my external SSD, the internal storage on local.pve also decreases.

There are no backups vivible on local.pve, only on my ssd.

Worth to mentioning is that I have only 1 partition on my internal ssd "local.pve". It's easier to maintain and understand for me.

Best regards
Anders

Hi,
did you check that the usb storage is mounted correctly? You should set the is_mountpoint flag on the storage to avoid having backup written if the disk is not mounted, see https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pv...trong_pvesm_strong_proxmox_ve_storage_manager

Thank you. That solved my problem after a little more Google. One more question, it seems that after deletion of my backups on the external SSD, no storage was reclaimed on local.pve?
Thank you.

This is probably because you only deleted the backups from the SSD, not the local storage. Check the mountpoint of your SSD storage and remove potential lingering data below the mountpoint, if there is some. Might be that you mounted the USB disk over that now, so also check when it is unmounted.
