Backup and restore - Failure

how do you restore? and post the log from your 'qmrestore' process.
 
1. I restore a new VM107 from backup VM104...........

2. I change the MAC-adress from the network-adapter
3. I start the VM107 -> it's OK.
4. I change the Servername from VM107 thats is different from VM104

Yes. I start the vm107 on proxmox1. All is OK....

I can't install a vm (kvm) on proxmox2 (cluster node) with the follow settings.

1. Typ:KVM
2. Iso Storage: NAS
3. InstallMedium: Iso from NAS
4. DiskStorage: NAS
5. DiskSpace: 20 GB
6. Name: FW
7. Memory: 1536
8. VMID: 108
9. ClusterNode: proxmox2
10. Start at boot: yes
11. Image format: qcow2
12. Disk type: IDE
13. Guest: Linux 2.6
CPU Sockets: 1

It's the same with WinServer2008R2!!

so you never installed a KVM guest with success on this second host? update the mainboard bios, make sure VT is enabled., power off the server and try again.
 
I changed the bios from both computer to the newest i found on www.hp.com. Nothing helps.

I give up. :(:(:(

I am out of idea, too. Must be some incompatibility with this special desktop box or we are both blind. generally speaking, using server hardware is always the best approach.
 
I now use ubuntu server 10/04. I use NFS shares with webmin as admin-gui or the conole. all now will function and also the migration.
I think the nas-server (freenas ...) will be faulty.

I wanted to share it just that I'm satisfied and remained at Proxmox.
