All ports seems to be closed even after adding in firewall

Hi All,

I recently just installed Proxmox and it is working great except for the firewall part. I set up a vm and installed Unifi Controller in it. The necessary ports however are seemed to be blocked - I've added the ports in the OS layer as well as in Proxmox, from Datacenter all the way down to VM.

But whenever I do a check if the port is open, I get a refused connection.

I do the test by running the command nc -zvw10 [Proxmox server IP] 8080 - this returns a "connection refused"
I tested with port 22 and get a "22 (ssh) open"

I would appreciate any help from the experts out there. Thank you in advance!

you need to connect to the VM's IP, not the Proxmox host's IP? there is nothing listening on port 8080 on the PVE host.. if you only have a single public IP and want the VM to be reachable via that, you need to setup port forwarding and NAT..
