Hello all tring to install openfiler using virtio for harddrive and network, read some posts but they are pretty old and seem to only effect openfiler after the install? as i cannot get openfiler installer to see any virtio disks that i have created for it with proxmox. Is there a better alternitive? looked at FreeNAS but freebsd is as always behind, linux with there virtio drivers.
Has anyone managed to get any NAS KVM working with virtio? seems the preformace makes it more worthwhile. As for now i am using an openvz container for samba and the pve host for nfs4 seems messy and i would like to consolidate this into a KVM for better porablity. Maybe i should just add the nfs to the openvz container too what has better IO virtio network/disks or openvz container with bind mounts etc?

read several more posts too not tring to be lazy here.
PS all these bind mounts and kvm/smb mount permissions are a mess on my system as the users and groups are not same one the pve host. How are others dealing with this?
