Use SAN to create shared storage.

If you mean empty hard drive slots in the SAN, then yes, we have 6 open slots.

Use SAN to create shared storage.

I currently have two servers hooked up to a SAN. Here is my storage configuration. dir: local path /var/lib/vz content images, iso, vztmpl, rootdir maxfiles 0 iscsi: dii_san1_md3200 target iqn.1984-05.com.dell:powervault.md3200i.690b11c0000ce47900000000508ea061 portal...

Adding to a 2 server cluster: Waiting for quorum... Timed-out waiting for cluster

I think that's the problem. All of the servers are connected to 4 different vlans. I want the cluster to be on the management lan 10.10.40.*, like strongest and bolivar. However, it took the 10.10.10.* ip by default. Is there a way to define the ip you want the server to use when adding it...

Adding to a 2 server cluster: Waiting for quorum... Timed-out waiting for cluster

Issues Adding two servers to an existing Cluster We have two servers already in a cluster, which was originally configured as a two node cluster. It is in production and has 10 VMs running on each.: aurora root@aurora:~# pveversion -v proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 3.1-109 (running kernel: 2.6.32-23-pve)...

[CRITICAL] Huge IO load causes freezing during backups

What version are you runnning? From what I understand, everything past 3.1 doesn't have the issue of high i/o load locking up the server.

[CRITICAL] Huge IO load causes freezing during backups

answered my own question. To Migrate by hand. 1. Shut Down VM 2. transfer image file to new server 3. In gui create container, with identical info to the one you just stopped 4. Copy File to the new image file location, or if using a san, use dd to copy the image to the san. 5. Turn on the new vm.

[CRITICAL] Huge IO load causes freezing during backups

Is there a work around for this? I'm having the same issue. I run vzdump to migrate a kvm or vz container, and sometimes the io load spikes, then the server hangs. The only way I fix it is to restart the server, thus bringing down my production environment. I'm trying to migrate virtual...

VM reboot: mount you must specify the filesystem type kernel panic

I couldn't find a way to repair it. I ultimately rebuilt the server from scratch, and other backups I had.

VM reboot: mount you must specify the filesystem type kernel panic

On a kvm I was running an fio command to test the io of the system, and the server froze. I rebooted the VM, and I get this error on boot. mount: you must specify the filesystem type ....... kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill the init! Does anyone have any ideas how to repair...

    SAN/Multipathing Performance Questions

I have setup a SAN to work with proxmox. The SAN uses multipathing over 4 dedicated NICS. I have a Dell MD3200 connected to a high speed switch. The configuration is using Jumbo Frames over a 1 Gb line. I'm able to build and migrate servers on the SAN I setup and built, and functionally...

Posting to the Proxmox 2.0 API - 401 Unauthorized

That's actually an error caused by the quote tag. Let's try it with the code tag: POST http://rest-test.heroku.com/resource with a 741 byte payload, content type application/x-www-form-urlencoded {"vmid"=>"216", "name"=>"test_build", "memory"=>"1022", "cores"=>"2"...
