Hello,
I have version PVE 2.1.1 installed. I wanted to know if I will be able to directly upgrade to version 3.0.
Also, if not using the in-place (script) upgrade, will I still be able to migrate VMs and containers from the old servers (ver 2.1.1) to the new (ver 3.0)?
Thanks!
Oren
@jmjosebest - I am not sure why you posted this answer but I am grateful that you did. I was looking in many places and could not find this answer.
Thanks!
Oh I see. Thank you very much.
BTW: The interface in this case is very subtle. I would have never noticed it myself.
Maybe the designers here can create a more obvious interface.
And yes, you are right this is not a very good backup, I just need a copy of a VM.
Thanks again.
Hello,
I have a newly installed PVE 2.1
My local storage is the only storage available.
However, when I try to create a backup, I cannot select any storage, therefore I cannot create the backup.
How can I make the local storage displayed?
Thanks!
Does anybody have an idea if this is a critical error, one that will prevent the server from operating correctly?
Proxmox does boot, but not sure it is working correctly.
Thanks.
Hello,
In the services tab, I see two services that are stopped.
CMan and RGManager. If I try to start them they will not start.
I think it has been the same since install.
Is this the way it should be?
Thanks,
Oren
Well, that is the reason that I feel I may be missing something.
The installation procedure is very simple, maybe too simple. I did not see any way to vary from the standard install.
I guess I will just post specific questions and eventually I will get the whole picture corrected.
Thanks.
Hello,
I wonder if there is a summary or quick start for Proxmox 2.0.
I looked at the documentation but could not find something that will guide you after the installation.
It seems that it is expected that the UI will explain itself, and it does. But it is not enough.
I am getting into a lot...
Hello,
After installing Proxmox 2.0 I get the following messages on the screen.
The messages repeat endlessly. I copied it below from the syslog, but it is the same message.
Does anybody have an idea what is it about?

Hi,
Did you consider using a DOM (Disk On Module)? You can get an IDE or SATA versions.
I actually used the same idea when I had XENSERVER. The OS was installed on the DOM and the data was on the RAID.
I decided to scrap this idea when I reinstalled the same machine with Proxmox.
I was not...
Hi,
I thought I did not have it but luckily it was saved on my SSH session.
This is of course after the initial update and after it failed once. I tried to do it again.
Here it is.
Thanks,
Oren
The following partially installed packages will be configured:

Hello,
I am new to Proxmox, but IMHO the latest version must have a bug.
I installed the previous release (proxmox-ve_2.0-4b59ea39-23) with no problem about 2 weeks ago.
When I installed this version (proxmox-ve_2.0-ff6cd700-24) I got an error when running aptitude update
that proxmox-manager...
Dietmar,
I also have this problem. XEN is very popular and we have several VMs that are working very good.
I like your PVE but it is a problem for me to switch production VMs to KVM.
I also find it hard to trust OpenVZ for real time applications because a crash of one VM can cause all other VMs...
