Hi,
PVE 7.4 here. There's something wrong with my Windows guests. No matter the underlying hardware, I have very poor performance in I/O for write operations. Like, 1.3GB/s in read and about 100MB/s in write. I tested using both my Ceph storage and local SSDs.
I have latest VirtIO drivers...
Hi,
PVE 7.4-16 here. It looks like I can't drop this type of traffic at datacenter/node level. Only VM level works.
As per Anydesk documentation (and further traffic sniffing) this is the traffic I need to drop:
- protocol: UDP
- destination IP: 239.255.102.18 (multicast)
- destination ports...
Hi,
some guests become readonly after the snapshot backup (performed overnight by PBS) fails. Curiously, I happen to see the very same backup logs on different guests, even with the same guest OS, but they don't go readonly. The backup task fails, and they go on like it was nothing.
Can you...
Hi,
I see that systemd-timesyncd is not installed by default. I was questioning myself, what if I do install it? Isn't timekeeping important for cluster operations?
Thank you
Is it possible to somehow disable the call to guest-agent fsfreeze when performing a snapshot backup?
Despite the update to latest Proxmox VE 7.3-4 and opt-in 5.19.17-2-pve kernel, I'm still having the issue where the fsfreeze command blocks the guest filesystem and there's no solution except...
Hi all,
I think we're all aware of the the issue with the snapshot backup locking the guest FS with fsfreeze and not being able to thaw the FS, resulting in a completely locked VM. It's been discussed many times in and out of this forum.
I don't know if there is any progress in fixing the very...
Hi all,
I'm currently running one PBS for my cluster, which stores data on an NFS share backed by an enterprise-grade QNAP storage.
Everything went fine until about two weeks ago, when I noticed some scheduled backups were starting to file sometimes. Also, I see that when I browse VM backups...
Hi all,
I'm currently running a cluster with 15 nodes and I plan to add more in the near future. As for Ceph I have 5 monitors, 5 managers and 5 metadata servers which currently manage 60+ OSDs.
Do you advice to add more monitors/mangers/mds? Should I stick with odd numbers because of quorum...
Related to this other thread, tagging @fabian as requested.
I currently have a cluster with 13 nodes running. Everything is updated to the latest versions (except for the kernel which is pinned to 5.13.19-6-pve on all nodes because of some issues with live-migration on different CPUs). All the...
Hi,
I read somewhere in the forum that disabling Ceph debug logs could improve my overall IO wait.
I've been reading the official Ceph docs but it's a little unclear whether I need to set the params per OSD (as it seems) or I can set them globally, and how. I can't see any of them in the...
Hi,
all of sudden, many of the VMs in my cluster show (no bootdisk) in the Boot Order options (see screenshot). If I open the configuration file in /etc/pve/qemu-server/ the "boot" row is configured as boot: c.
If I open the option, everything is unset. Sure, I can set the right drive and...
Hi,
I'm running a Proxmox 7.2-7 cluster with Ceph 16.2.9 "Pacific".
I can't tell the difference between Ceph > Usage and Ceph > Pools > Used (see screenshots).
Can someone please explain what's the actual space used in my Ceph storage? Do you think that 90% used pool is potentially dangerous...
Hi,
whenever I set disk limits using pvesh or qm command line tools, the setting is not applied immediately. Instead, the new setting turns orange in the web UI meaning that it will be applied at the next reboot.
If I set the parameters directly in the web UI, they are immediately applied with...
Hi all,
pretty new to Proxmox and Ceph. We've been running a test cluster on three nodes, each node on Gigabit network for the Ceph network as well and so far we are satisfied with performance and resiliency. So we're planning to deploy a production cluster soon.
The new cluster is starting...
