Just upgraded from 3.4 to 4.1 and used the new Datastore->Options->"Tuning options" to improve verify speed (changed from 1/4 to 16/32 as a quick test). Great success ;-) PBS 3.4: ~1 GB/s PBS 4.1: ~6-7 GB/s

Backup throughput completely collapses on certain VMs and then they freeze. The kernels in use are: PVE: 6.8.12-16-pve, PBS: 6.17.2-1-pve. No anomalies detected on the ZFS pools.

Please post the output of arc_summary, free and cat /proc/pressure/io with the 6.17.2-1 kernel when the backup hangs.
