Hello,

We have setup a three nodes cluster that's up and running.

All nodes are using local ZFS storage (a bit annoying because PVE expects datasets to have the exact same name - which is not the case in our install).

We also have 2 NFS servers (based on FreeNAS) : 1 used as a ZFS backup storage and 1 which shall be used to store shared NFS storage to achieve HA.

We would like to test an NFS shared volume in order to setup certain of our KVM to be used in HA.
We have couple of questions related to this move :

  1. How are we supposed to move from ZFS volume on the cluster nodes to NFS storage ?
  2. Is there a way to export the ZVol to create a QCow2 volume and move It to the NFS shared storage ?
  3. Any advice on this configuration will be welcome.

Thanks.

for VMs, you can just "move disk" in the GUI or backup and restore, for containers there is only the backup and restore method (or manual tweaking).
