Weird Question. Can I pull out drives out of one proxmox server and put them into another to upgrade the server specs?

I have many servers, one of which runs my plex on proxmox (8core 32GB ram). Can I pull out the drives and put them into another server (40core 128GB ram). Would the install work like it was on the original server? I have 3 4TB drives in a raid. Would that also keep all the data and work? What would be the best way for this? RAID IN TRUENAS. Just experiencing issues with plex. Also, would the network run off the bat?
Many Thanks,

I'd expect it to break.
The hardware is completely different.
While it might boot and even might import your VM config it latest will drop out on the network if you ask me.
So without some Linux CLI skills this is not doable IMHO.
Just be aware that you are operating at an open heart when doing this

If you're using a VM to do the raid with disk passthrough it won't work directly; you're going to need to reset the disk passthrough config in your vmid.conf as the disks will have new IDs.

Generally speaking, passing disks to a vm is not a good idea. You're far better off handing the disks to proxmox and serving out virtual block storage to your guests- after all, that is what virtualization is for. had you done that, doing what you suggested would work.

I have the drives directly passthroughed to my raid program (Truenas). Otherwise proxmox handles all of the disk images

If you have the right skills its doable.
But don't expect anyone to provide a step by step, detailed instruction book.
There are too many things that could pop up
