Hello,

I have got the problem that I am making a KVM snapshot that should be approx. 5 GB, but it turns out to be 35 GB.

My KVM has two HDs (RAW) allocated of which only one should be backuped (this is working as expected). On this drive (vda1) I only use about 4 GB.

df -h (on KVM)
Dateisystem Size Used Avail Use% Eingehängt auf
/dev/vda1 48G 3,9G 42G 9% /
tmpfs 375M 0 375M 0% /lib/init/rw
udev 370M 132K 370M 1% /dev
tmpfs 375M 0 375M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/vdb1 40G 20G 18G 54% /home/

ls -lah auf Proxmox
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 50G Sep 15 14:51 vm-101-disk-1.raw this is vda1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 40G Sep 15 14:50 vm-101-disk-2.raw

I had that drive (vda1) filled up to around 35 GB a few days ago and since then my backup is about 35 GB big!
Is there a way to shrink it again?

Thank you for your help!

Jörg
