Hello,

I'm newbie user at proxmox , I just installed Proxmox VE 3.1. Alreay have experience with vmware esxi. And Also use vmware esxi. I would to migrate some VM's from Vmware to Proxmox. I found proxmox support vmware template while I'm creating KVM. So my question is how can I deploy vmware vm in proxmox?
I read wiki about migration, I think it's about older version of proxmox, and WIKI hasn't been updated yet. Also added I'm not power user so suppose to teach a student if you want to answer.

Thank you in Advance.

hi,
proxmox ve supports the use of (full) vmdk directly, but it's not recommended. It's best to use RAW (device only, best performance) or Qcow2 (file format, can do snapshots).

qemu system, base of kvm virt has tools (qemu-img) to convert (full) vmdk to qcow or raw (and others)
