I would like to inquire, I have a backend Cluster Storage Array and am used to used VMotion/XenMotion to move VM's when an actual ESXI/XEN Server Fails. How do I move the VMs that are in the Iscsi to start on the other VMs without using HA. I don't understand based on the screenshot why I cannot just start the VM on the working Server that is still online. I appreciate everyone's follow-up.
I switched to use NFS (FREENAS) but I still cannot move the VM from a failed pve to a working state one.
Solution:
Please disregard, I figured out the resolution. Proxmox handles failed pve nodes differently than Citrix. With Citrix, the application moves it to a central repository and the VM can be restarted, which is nice. With Proxmox the solution is to go into a working PVE and navigate to (console) failed ~ /etc/nodes/../.../qemu-server (directory) and move the conf files to the working qemu-server and all the VMs will start up. It is a little more cumbersome as I like the Citrix structure but hopefully a failed pve does not occur as often as we think it would.
