Hi
I have been meaning to ask for a while,
I have a server with 2 x Xeon E5-2650 CPU each with 8 Cores, Total 16 Cores.
When I look in the Proxmox VE Web pane.
It shows a total of 32 x Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 @ 2.00GHz (2 Sockets).
question!
When I'm setting up my VM's do I use the actual sockets (Total 16) or displayed (Total 32).
Another Question!
What is best practice?
How much CPU cores should you leave for the Host OS?

32 if you want to use all cores (or you disable hyper threading in the BIOS).
But usually people run more than one VM, so it is common to assign just
a few cores to a single VM.

How much CPU cores should you leave for the Host OS?

There is usually no need to reserve extra cores for the host.
