Hi.
I have installed a usb3 pciexpress card with an usb3ethernet as second ethernet card to install a new virtual firewall.
but the usb ethernet is only available to virtualmachines and i can't set as proxmox host ethernet to create further bridges...

anyone have experience about this situation?

thanks.

No, but if you have a PCIe slot to install a USB3-controller, why not adding a true NIC?
That would safe you the trouble...
I have bad experience with USB3 attached NICs in general (though not specific with Proxmox).
They tend to disconnect / reconnect on reboots and create new devices. Sometimes that happened just when I attached new USB devices. So I'd rather not go down that path.
Grab an Intel e1000 NIC or whatever suits your needs (but I'd recommend intel). They can be purchased for a few €/$ (whatever currency) on Ebay.

I have partially solved, mixing openvswitch and linux bridge for the usb3 ethernet... passing the linux bridge to the LXC

It's an experiment .. using this usb nic that i know have support for hardware broadcast forwarding traffic.
Already tested with this purpose on a windows computer.

I'm linking two television studios to pass NDI video signal with broadcast messages over a vpn to have
250ms video 1080p latency between the locations.
