upgrading

i currently have 2 proxmox servers with 1.7 running.
is it possible to add a proxmox server with 3.0 to the cluster and move the vm's to the 3.0 server ?

1. upgrade to latest 1.x http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downloads#Update_a_running_Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_to_1.9
2. upgrade 1.9 to 2.0 http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_1.9_to_2.0
3. upgrade from 2.0 to 2.3 http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downloads#Update_a_running_Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_2.x_to_latest_2.3
4. upgrade from 2.3 to 3.0 http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_2.3_to_3.0
5. update to latest 3.0 http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downloads#Update_a_running_Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_3.x_to_latest_3.0

or install 3.0 from scratch and move all VMs and CTs via backup/restore
