Hi,

we've on two sites a proxmox backupserver. The Entieties did have an 100Mbit Internet Access.

Now we plan to sync one pbs to the other, but the amount is over 8TB, so the initial sync would take a long time.
But we've on both sites an LTO8 drive, so I think the best thing is, to store all on one site to tape, move the tape to the other server and restore th content to the backupstore?

It should be better/cheaper/faster as sync the store to an external disk and use the disk to transport the data?

Bye

Gregor

both using a tape or an external drive should work. though with current versions using the tape is probably easier, since you have to manually edit the datastore config for adding an already existing datastore (on an external drive)

It should be better/cheaper/faster as sync the store to an external disk and use the disk to transport the data?
if you have the tape drive on both locations, i guess it does not really matter which way you do it
