Storage question

Hello,

I have a question regarding the best approach do add a shared storage to a Proxmox Cluster. I have a storage avaliable in network trough ISCSI. It was formatted with XFS and made avaliable on the first node as mount point /vz. Now a second node is supposed to join the cluster. The idea is to also mount that same ISCSI target on the second node as a directory storage in /vz as well. When marking both /vz mountpoints as shared in Proxmox I assumed that Proxmox knows that the content of /vz on every node is identical. But it seems I´m wrong here. What I´m doing here is probably not the correct way?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Thank you for your fast help. For now I need to find a way to get the current running machines off the ISCSI target to another storage so that I can reconfigure the storage accordingly.

Yes thank you, I will do that. I could get a new ISCSI target with same space so I can set up the new and just move the disks from the old. Afterwards I can delete the old one.
